The Super Bowl countdown is on! My family and I are beyond thrilled to host a Super Bowl party this Sunday since our Pittsburg Steelers are in Super Bowl 45 (dont know the Roman numerals right off hand)! We will have our Steelers garb on, even the two dogs, Lucy and Paisley, ready to cheer the Steelers into their 7th Super Bowl win. I must admit, it has been an exciting season, and I hoping my man, #43 Troy Polamalu, is gonna put the hurtin’ on the Packers!
The players I really enjoy watching are: Troy Polamalu, Hines Ward, Michael Wallace , Brett Keisel (the beard man), James Harrison, Lamarr Woodley, Casey Hampton, Isaac Redmon, Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown, Trai Essex, Ziggy Hood, James Farrior, Heath Miller, and Rashard Mendenhall. I know it sounds like the entire team, but those are the guys I follow the most.
If you come to our house prepare for us to be loud, abnoxious, and over the top! Trav has had the house decorated since the playoffs began. But look on the bright side, we will have plenty of eats!! I know Travmo wants me to serve wings, and I am really not sure what else I will be making. I might throw in some of Miss Pam’s Pepperoni Bread. I am trying to put together a menu for the big day!
Menu so far:
- Hot wings
- Pepperoni Bread
I might be adding these to the menu, too:
- Tailgate dip – made of beef, sausage with salsa in melted velveta cheese.
- Chicken Tenders
- Veggie Tray
- Desserts galore – I am trying to think of some cool cupcakes or cookies to make. I really love what “Brown Eyed Baker” did for her cookies, but I ran out of time to order the cookie cutters from Amazon. 😦 Sniffle.
I know people hate on us Steelers fans, but we are loyal to the end. We love football!
As a kid growing up, I was a Chicago Bears and Washington Redskins fan. I liked Da Bears since both my brothers liked them, and well, I picked the Redskins myself just because I liked their uniforms and a player named Dave Butz. Dont ask me why, but there was something about Dave that caught my attention.
Similar to Butz, Polamalu caught my attention the same way. Maybe I saw heart, athleticism, and drive. I don’t know exactly, but I am proud to boast I fell in love with Troy P. as a player long before my husband did. The beast was all over the field…all the time! Troy’s intensity drew me in quick. Once I could see what he could do, I was hooked! No turning back for me! Yep, I will proudly be wearing my Troy jersey on Sunday!
