Kickin’ Sauce

on July 6, 2011

This sauce can be used on just about anything…a turkey sandwich, soft tacos, turkey burgers, and so much more. This recipe came from the Smoky Mountain Cafe’ blog. I made it for the first time when I made grilled turkey burgers (in her post she made sliders). The sauce was delicious and it did not overpower the grilled turkey.

Ingredients:

 1/3 cup low-fat sour cream (no fat-free)

2 Tbsp. mayonnaise

1/2 tsp. horseradish

1/2 tsp. Louisiana hot sauce

2 Tbsp. buttermilk

2 Tbsp. barbeque sauce of your choice

2 tsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice

1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper (I added this)

Pinch of Kosher salt

Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Directions:

In a small mixing bowl, whisk all the ingredients together until smooth. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to use.

If you want more heat in the sauce, you might try adding more horseradish, hot sauce and/or cayenne pepper to the sauce.
